• Campus email address (for verification only — confirms you're a real student)
• Phone number (for account login via OTP)
• Content you post (confessions, memes, poll votes, comments)
• Anonymous app usage data (crash reports, feature usage — no personal identifiers)

2. What We Don't Collect

• Your real name or personal identity on public posts
• Precise location data
• Contact lists or phone book access
• Browsing history outside of Halchal

3. Anonymity

Anonymity is core to Halchal. Here's how it works:

• Confessions and anonymous posts are not linked to your visible identity
• Other users cannot see who posted a confession
• Campus moderators cannot see the identity behind anonymous posts
• Only in cases of serious legal requirements (court orders) may identity be disclosed, and only by the super admin team

4. Data Storage & Security

• Your data is stored on encrypted servers
• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt (never stored in plain text)
• All connections use HTTPS/TLS encryption
• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties

5. Your Rights

• You can delete your account at any time from the app settings
• You can request a copy of your data by contacting us
• You can report content that violates community guidelines
